Deagrifi

A season, field by field.

Follow two neighboring loans through one Kharif season, from sanction and sowing to a dry spell, an officer visit, the harvest, and repayment after the sale.

Field Note No. 1Sanction

June. The loan is sanctioned and the parcel is placed on the map.

At sanction, the branch records the survey number, the declared crop and the farmer's consent to monitor the parcel.

Deagrifi draws the parcel boundary from land records and the officer's pin, then confirms it against imagery. From this point the parcel has a field note that updates for the rest of the season.

Field Note No. 2Sowing

Late June. Sowing is confirmed from the sky.

Once the monsoon sets in, bare soil starts to green. When the parcel's signal rises inside the usual sowing window for soybean in that district, the field note records sowing as confirmed.

If nothing appears 30 to 40 days after the declared sowing date, that becomes a sowing-gap flag for review. It can mean late rain, a changed crop, or a parcel left fallow.

  • Sowing confirmed 28 June
  • Within the district sowing window
  • Crop matches the declared soybean pattern

July and August. Growth is tracked against the village.

After each clear satellite pass the parcel's vegetation estimate is compared with other parcels of the same crop in the same village. A field slightly behind its neighbors is normal. A field falling steadily behind is worth a look.

Field Note No. 4Dry spell

Early September. A neighbor's cotton starts to struggle.

Two fields away, loan KCC-2241 is growing cotton on 1.8 acres. After 19 days without rain, its estimate falls under the band for cotton in that village while others on canal water hold steady.

A crop-stress flag is raised and placed in the branch review queue. Nobody is contacted automatically. A credit officer reads the flag, checks the history, and decides what to do.

  • Irrigation access checked
  • Crop insurance intimation discussed
  • Possible repayment reschedule noted for the branch manager

October. Harvest windows come into view.

The district crop calendar and the parcel's own imagery agree that soybean on KCC-2213 will be cut between 18 and 25 October. The repayment reminder is set for 30 October, after the produce reaches the mandi.

Cotton on KCC-2241 is picked in rounds into December, so its reminder is spread out to match.

Plate 07Reminder sent five days after harvest
Field Note No. 7Repayment

After the sale, a reminder that makes sense.

The reminder arrives when the farmer has money in hand, in their language, with a way to ask for help.

Partial payments are recorded and the next reminder moves to the next market trip. At the end of the season, the field notes for every parcel roll up into a report for the credit committee.
