Who this policy covers
This policy covers three groups of people: farmers whose land parcels are linked to a farm loan monitored through our service, staff of lending institutions and producer organizations who use the service, and visitors to this website.
For farmer data, the lending institution decides why and how the data is used, and we process it on the lender's instructions under a written agreement. For lender staff accounts and website visitors, we decide how the data is used, as described below.
02
Farmer and parcel data
When a lender enrolls a loan, we receive and process:
- Loan reference, sanction date, loan amount and repayment schedule
- Farmer name and the language preferred for messages
- Land parcel details such as village, survey number, area and boundary
- The crop declared at sanction and any later updates by the lender
- Visit photos, notes and voice notes recorded by the lender's field staff
- The record of the farmer's consent to parcel monitoring
Parcels are monitored only where the lender has recorded the farmer's consent at loan time. If consent is withdrawn through the lender, monitoring of that parcel stops.
03
Satellite imagery and estimates
We combine parcel boundaries with satellite imagery to produce crop health estimates, expected harvest windows and risk flags. These outputs are estimates. They are shown with their date and confidence, are reviewed by lender staff before any action, and are never used by us to make automated lending or collection decisions.
04
Lender staff accounts
To create and run an account we collect name, work email, designation, institution details, and records of sign-in and activity within the service. We use this to provide access, keep accounts secure, and support users.
05
Website visitors
When you submit the contact or sign-up form, we receive the details you enter and use them to reply or set up your account. The forms use a short arithmetic check and a session cookie to block automated submissions. This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
06
How data is used
- To monitor financed parcels and produce field notes for the lender
- To schedule repayment reminders around expected harvests
- To build visit lists and store visit evidence in the loan file
- To prepare portfolio reports requested by the lender
- To keep the service secure and to fix problems
Farmer data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to build profiles for anyone other than the lender who enrolled the loan.
08
Security and location
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited by role and branch, and access to farmer data is logged so the lender can review it. Farmer and parcel data is stored on servers located in India.
09
Retention and deletion
Farmer and parcel data is deleted when the loan relationship ends, on the timeline agreed with the lender, and the lender is informed when deletion is complete. Account data is deleted within 90 days of an account being closed, except where a longer period is required by law.
10
Your choices and rights
Farmers can ask their lender to see, correct or delete their data, or to withdraw consent for parcel monitoring. We help the lender respond. Lender staff and website visitors can write to us through the contact page to access, correct or delete their own details, as provided under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
11
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how data is handled, we will tell lenders in advance and update this page.
